A Tampa Filmmaker went to North Dakota to meditate on the meaning of love, the results are gorgeous
“Crosby Rail” takes an objective look at untouched, rural America, and unveils a little about ourselves in the process. “It’s hard to tell when love really starts, you know.” That’s what Lloyd Johnson tells his grandson, Dylan Melcher, in the short film, “Crosby Rail.”
The award-winning short, shot and directed by Melcher, 30, was released to the public this week and visually chronicles a journey to his grandparents’ hometown of Crosby, North Dakota, just a few miles south

Crosby Project : North Dakota
A recent trip took me out to the badlands of North Dakota. I never knew such beauty until I arrived. It was a unique beauty; simple and kind. A beauty that spoke so much yet existed in a whirlwind of silence. A calm that was never still, was always moving in the most organic way and never ceasing to captivate. This was a beauty that kept you on the edge of your seat and dancing on your toes. It is a beauty I will never forget. More to come. #North #Dokota #Crosby #Photography

In Print
It was wild to find out I had been featured in Creative Loafing Tampa print issue back in March. Creative Loafing is a wonderful publication filled with music, art and culture which is why this was such an honor. To add to the excitement, this piece was also put up on display in the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts (FMoPA) along side with the other local photographers that were featured by CL Tampa. Big thanks to the team at Creative Loafing and the Florida Museum of Photo

Below is a beautiful collaboration piece created by Ahmad Renaldi (@skinnymonkey) using a part of

Who Cares?
I do, and hopefully you will too. At least, that is my goal. I, Skyler June, am a photographer who struggles terribly with writing bios about myself. I cannot think of anything that is more uncomfortable than creating combinations of adjectives and nouns to create some rigid construct of who I am. Often, people ask me what type of photography I do. Even that question makes me uncomfortable for similar reasons. I just shoot, mostly driven by passion and partially driven by the
